Our Vernacular Heritage Pilot Enhancement Project, implemented in southernmost part of the West Bank in the ancient city of As Samou’, has been included in the publication of the “5th edition of the European Award for Architectural Heritage Intervention”.
The European Award AHI is a biennial event aimed at consolidating itself as an observatory of new challenges added to the conservation and intervention in built heritage by the globalization of contemporary architecture.
What led to this project being listed among the outstanding interventions in the “disclosure” category is the significant contribution to dissemination of architectural heritage values towards the local community, through trainings and community awareness activities. Furthermore, HYDEA developed the web platform ahwash.ps, telling the story of the project.
