Pesaro harbour is located on the right bank of the mouth of the River Foglia and consists of an access channel protected by two wharves, an expansion basin, a parking basin and a terminal channel. The New Dock, once completed as part of the implementation works of the Harbour Master Plan variant, will become the port’s new commercial hub.

HYDEA has officially completed and delivered to the Port System Authority of Ancona the Technical-Functional Adaptation (ATF) project and the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) for the Pesaro harbour dredging disposal area. These documents are now ready to be submitted to the Ministry, marking an important step forward in the port area’s development plans.

The placement area that is being planned will have the function of storing sediments from the dredging of the port. It is therefore an important opportunity to enhance the potential of this port area, with a view to improving effectiveness and efficiency in the use of space, safety in handling and navigability, as well as the development of traffic and productivity of current and future port terminals.

At the same time, the preparation of the marine sediment characterisation plan is underway, which aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the port’s seabed and thus a precise picture of environmental quality.
