The creation of a multipurpose sports facility meant for cycling, BMX/MTB, skateboarding and skating answers to the need to provide  the city of Grosseto with a safe area where cycling and other recreational activities for all age groups could be carried out away from the traffic. This new space will allow sports associations affiliates to train in total safety.

The building bike parks and the promotion cycle tourism are highly developed activities in Europe, especially in Germany, Holland and France. In more recent times they have been gaining momentum in Italy as well.

This new cycle track of Grosseto fits into the idea of triggering a virtuous mechanism for sustainable mobility based on the use of bicycles.

The project has been awarded to HYDEA by Grosseto Municipality through a public tender. It is funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, as a part of the Next Generation EU (NGEU) programme. It features a track of about 1 km-standard FCI and CONI-and a pump track for evolutions. There will also be three additional buildings, that have been designed in BIM, a bar and a shop for reparations, changing rooms and an infirmary room. External facilities include a green area, roadways and parking lots.

A future implementation of the projects includes the realisation of  a skate park for skateboards, rollerblades, skates and bikes.
