Castel Romano Designer Outlet


Master plan, concept design, architectural and landscape design, tender documents, supervision of the construction, tenant coordinator activity, leasing retail pack.

The outlet centre is located 25 km from Rome ring road, in southeast direction, in a green rural landscape not far from see cost, immediately close to natural protected park zone.
It was opened in 2003 with further enlargements in 2006 and 2013 and presents in a very compact scheme with two elegant semicircular squares and a loop of pedestrian streets. Inspired by the buildings of imperial Rome reinterpreted in a contemporary spirit, the Design Outlet Castel Romano is a fully-ledged ancient city: arches, columns, outer walls and ashopping city, consisting of more than 110 first class shops. The project includes info points, management suites, commons
storages, security rooms and public toilets.
The quiet atmosphere of the ancient roman village contest is recreated by a wide usage of natural stones as a building materials – roman travertine, tufo natural stone, slate stone and basalt as a street flooring. Beautiful sculpture and landscaping design along the streets make “eyes shopping” walk experience very relaxing in this outlet center.
HYDEA was retained by the developer to provide the functional concept and tehnical design of the outlet, bid documents for tendering construction works, and construction supervision and contract management services on behalf of McArthurGlen.
