CULTURAL HERITAGE

Cultural heritage is no longer aimed just to preservation and transmission, for the benefit of new generations. Today there is the ambition to disseminate knowledge, raise awareness, and simulate a sense of appropriation in the public.

HYDEA’s activities in the cultural heritage sector date back to the company’s early days, when they consisted mainly in designing restoration projects for historic buildings, such as the Castel Sant’Angelo in Rome. Our in-depth knowledge accumulated in the field of conservation led us to become advisers and strategists for cultural heritage protection, enhancement and dissemination. The company offers its consultancy expecially abroad, where Italian expertise and know-how in the cultural field is highly requested and recognised as an excellence.

Over the years, HYDEA has provided a wide range of services related to cultural heritage, covering the most diverse areas: from the Ethiopian cultural heritage cataloguing project to the development of a computerised cultural heritage management system for the Abu Dhabi authorities, to the coordination of the Euromed Heritage IV regional programme financed by the European Commission, aim to enhance the tangible and intangible heritage of the nine countries on the southern shore of the Mediterranean.

On the national level, HYDEA participated in the revival of the Herculaneum UNESCO site, on behalf of an American private foundation.
