The monumental complex Santa Maria della Pietà, located in the Municipality of Rome XIV Monte Mario, has been listed among the Italian buildings, modern buildings, and specialised complexes of relevant urban interest.

Having ceased to function as a psychiatric hospital in 2000, it is now the object of an Integrated Urban Plan aimed to strengthen the urban social fabric and to improve the environmental condition of the entire area. The intervention is financed by the National Plan of Recovery ans Resilience (PNRR) and includes the renewal and restoration of the buildings and the enhancement of the adjoining park.

HYDEA has been entrusted with the Technical-Economic Feasibility Project for the restoration of the historic Pavilions 16, 18 and 31, including the eco-sustainable refunctionalisation of facilities and public spaces. In particular, the interventions concern the redesign of the interior spaces to improve comfort,  the façades, technological, environmental and energy efficiency, as well as the improvement of the structures for earthquake resistance.
