On January 11th in Port Louis, Mauritius, a regional project for the development of cultural and creative industries (CCI) addressed to the islands of the Indian Ocean was officially launched. HYDEA attended the event as the leading firm of a consortium with LALANBIK and OCPA.

This project is the result of a partnership between the Indian Ocean Commission and the French Development Agency. It is aimed at promoting gender equality and fostering the CCI sectors through interventions in the fields of heritage, cultural entrepreneurship, training, mobility, co-creation and governance.

During the First Steering Committee, the Team Leader Barbara Stephenson and Coordinator Paolo Lazzoni illustrated to the representatives of the IOC member states – Comores, France/La Réunion, Madagascar, Mauritius, and Seychelles – the range of activities that will take place during the project, which include the training of young cultural operators, the mobility of cultural operators, and the regional inventory of traditional architecture.
