Redevelopment of the Ex-Palazzetti Complex
PERUGIA | ITALY
Masterplan, final design, H&S services.
The project to recover and redevelop the Ex-Palazzetti complex in Ponte San Giovanni, Perugia, is set to transform this neglected and degraded area into a vibrant, multifunctional hub featuring high-quality housing. The redevelopment is guided by five core principles: sustainability, social inclusion, technological innovation, experimentation, and wellness.
In the initial phase, selective demolitions will reduce housing density, making way for open spaces and energy-efficient residences equipped with loggias, balconies, and expansive public pedestrian areas. The complex will prominently feature reclaimed materials and a pop aesthetic, with bright colors and decorations inspired by Etruscan motifs.
Of the four existing buildings, three will be preserved and repurposed to accommodate a mix of social and subsidized housing, commercial spaces, and neighborhood services, such as a kindergarten, senior center, and reading room. These buildings will be interconnected by green spaces and public areas, fostering social and generational integration throughout the community.
