Pizziconi and Restone expansion tanks on the Arno river

Hydrological and hydraulic studies and final design of two expansion tanks on the Arno river and design of the adaptation concerning the minor watercourses involved.
The two expansion tanks Pizziconi and Restone, aimed at mitigating the hydraulic risk on the Arno river, have a total reservoir capacity of approximately 10 million cubic metres. The Pizziconi expansion tank crosses the A1 motorway with three 14 m span bridges designed to be built in the presence of traffic, using the self-centring plate system.
In both tanks, the work includes the design of the mechanical floodgates to regulate the intake of the flood flow and the sizing of the hydraulic equipment.
