Provision of Technical Assistance to MWAUWASA for the Implementation of Lake Victoria Water and Sanitation for Mwanza City and Neighboring Areas.

Lake Victoria is the second-largest fresh water lake in the world, measuring more than 300 km in diameter and borders Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
The Lake Victoria Water and Sanitation project (LVWATSAN) was first launched in 2004 by the Ministers responsible for water within the East Africa Community (EAC) with the aim of achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) for water and sanitation in the secondary urban centres within the Lake Victoria Basin.
Hydea is currently operating in Mwanza, Tanzania, to provide technical assistance services to the local water operator in the frame of the LVWATSAN project. The assignment comprises the support of daily life operations related to the project, the implementation of Environmental and Social Safeguards policies. Furthermore, a part of the project is dedicated to capacity building and institutional strengthening through a know-how transfer of project management and technical skills, with the organization of workshops and targeted trainings.
