The upgrade of the Tyrrhenian Railway Line

LIVORNO | ITALY

Detailed design for the civil and electrical works (railways and overhead lines) between the new freight terminal in Darsena, Livorno (Leghorn), and the northern side of the Tyrrhenian line and between Darsena and Livorno Calambrone.

The project concerns the expansion of the Darsena railway junction (Tuscany) which provides the connection between the North Tyrrhenian line and the new Darsena station, as well as the doubling of the connection with the Livorno Calambrone plant.
These interventions fall within the overall framework of the Region of Tuscany’s plans. The objective is to create a “Coastal Logistics Platform” which would allow the Tuscan logistics system to connect to the trans-European networks (Corridor I).
The project includes the dimensioning of a new 15m span rail crossing bridge.
