New Road Connection Between Castelfiorentino and FI-PI-LI Expressway

Concept design.

The project constisted in the identification of possible technical solutions for a new road connection between Castelfiorentino (FI) and the FI-PI-LI Expressway, alternatively connecting to the San Miniato or Montopoli interchanges.
Two road alternatives of category C2 have been analyzed:

• Solution A1 (and variant A2), connecting Castelfiorentino with the Santa Croce sull’Arno interchange
• Solution B, connecting Castelfiorentino with the Montopoli Val d’Arno interchange.

The connection extends for approximately 25 km, crossing predominantly flat and hilly terrain.
