Val di Luce Spa Resort

ABETONE | ITALY

Master plan, preliminary design, final design (architectural, structural, MEP, infrastructure and landscaping), construction supervision services, H&S services during the design phase and during construction.

Val di Luce is a first-class location for summer and winter holiday-makers. They can choose between staying in one of the 40 luxury hotel rooms or renting one of the 70 stylish apartments which are offered on a time-share basis. It is located close to Abetone, which features 60 km of ski runs and is considered Tuscany’s prime location for winter sports.
The master plan of 1969 was partially implemented during the ’70s and ‘80s. The project provided for the complete implementation of the master plan and included the planning and subsequent construction of approximately 40,000 m³, of which 21,000 m³ were residential buildings (two structures) and 17,000 m³ were tourist-accommodation, as well as commercial activities, a chapel and some urban development in the area.
Other residential and recreational-sporting facilities were also designed but have not yet been realized.
In the residential buildings there are approximately 150 small-to-medium-sized apartments, from 40 to 80 m², some with an attic.
The style of the buildings evokes mountain architecture, both in the materials used (wood, stone and slate for the roofs) and in the construction methods, which are seen in many of the pre-existing buildings in the valley.
